Ruggedness & Environmental Protection
19. What is the difference between IP65, IP67 and IP68?
IP ratings describe enclosure protection against solids and water.
IP65
Dust-tight and tested against water jets.
IP67
Dust-tight and tested against temporary immersion.
IP68
Dust-tight and tested for immersion conditions beyond IPX7, with the exact depth and duration defined for the product.
Do not assume that a higher water digit automatically covers every lower water test.
Select the IP requirement according to the actual environment.
20. Are CENAVA rugged tablets waterproof?
It is more accurate to describe a device according to its specific IP rating rather than simply calling it “waterproof.”
For example, an IP67 product is designed to meet specified temporary-immersion conditions, but this does not mean unlimited underwater operation.
Port covers, battery doors and seals must also be used correctly to maintain the rated protection.
21. Do your rugged devices meet MIL-STD-810H requirements?
Selected CENAVA rugged tablets, handhelds and laptops are tested according to applicable MIL-STD-810H methods.
Depending on the product, documented rugged testing can include conditions such as a 1.22-meter transit drop.
MIL-STD-810H is a test-method standard rather than one universal product certification.
For critical projects, ask us for the exact test method, procedure and test report for the model you are buying.
22. What operating temperatures do CENAVA rugged tablets support?
Many CENAVA rugged platforms are designed for operating temperatures around:
-20°C to 60°C
Selected models can be configured for lower-temperature applications.
The exact operating, storage and charging-temperature ranges vary by model and battery configuration.
For cold storage, vehicle installations or extreme outdoor projects, ask for these specifications separately.
23. Are sunlight-readable displays available?
Yes.
We fit approximately 700-nit displays on many rugged tablets; certain products offer 1000-nit high-brightness configurations.
Higher brightness can improve outdoor visibility but can also increase battery consumption and thermal load.
Choose the screen according to the actual lighting environment.
24. Do CENAVA tablets support glove and wet-hand touch?
Selected models support glove-compatible touchscreen operation.
Wet-hand touch is also available on certain configurations.
These features can be useful in:
Construction
Cold storage

Test touch performance with the actual gloves and working conditions your team uses.
Explosion-Protected Devices
25. Do you offer ATEX and IECEx rugged devices?
Yes.
CENAVA offers selected hazardous-area rugged devices with ATEX, IECEx and other applicable certification depending on the exact product.
These products are designed for applications such as:
Oil and gas
Petrochemical facilities
Chemical plants
Mining
Pharmaceutical production
Combustible-dust environments
Always verify the exact certificate, Ex marking, Zone classification and configuration before deployment.
26. Is an IP68 tablet automatically explosion-proof?
No.
IP68 describes protection against dust and water ingress.
ATEX and IECEx address ignition risks in potentially explosive atmospheres.
A standard IP68 rugged tablet must not be used as a substitute for a properly certified hazardous-area device.
27. Can I add any barcode or RFID module to an ATEX/IECEx tablet?
Not automatically.
Optional modules, batteries, accessories and structural changes may affect the approved hazardous-area configuration.
Only use hardware that is covered by, or explicitly permitted under, the relevant certificate and product documentation.
Battery & Power
28. Do you offer long-battery-life rugged tablets?
Yes.
Battery options vary by platform and can include:
Standard internal batteries
10,000mAh batteries

Removable batteries
Hot-swappable battery systems
Battery runtime depends on CPU load, display brightness, cellular communication, GPS, scanners and other connected modules.
29. What is the difference between a removable and hot-swappable battery?
A removable battery can be physically replaced but may require the device to be shut down.
A hot-swappable battery can be replaced while the device remains powered.
True hot-swap designs normally use either:
A small internal bridge battery
A second active battery
Do not assume that every removable-battery product supports hot swapping.
30. Why does the battery percentage sometimes change quickly after charging?
Battery-percentage readings are estimates produced by the battery-management system.
If the displayed percentage changes unusually quickly, first:
Use the original or approved charger.
Allow the battery to complete a normal charging cycle.
Restart the device.
Check for high-power applications or peripherals.
Update the operating system or firmware where applicable.
Contact technical support if the issue continues.
Do not continue using a battery that is swollen, damaged, abnormally hot or physically deformed.
