Rugged Handheld

CENAVA is a professional rugged handheld manufacturer providing industrial PDA terminals, barcode scanner computers and mobile data collection devices.

Rugged Handheld Manufacturer

A rugged handheld computer is a portable industrial terminal designed to collect, process and transmit data where consumer devices are unreliable. CENAVA's handheld line starts with the 6.5-inch W65G Windows rugged PDA (Intel N4020, IP65, MIL-STD-810H), with an ATEX/IECEx-oriented W65G-EX variant for hazardous areas.

These devices are commonly used to scan barcodes, identify assets, access business software, update inventory records, perform equipment inspections and sync with WMS/MES/ERP systems.

A rugged handheld is especially useful when workers need a device that is smaller and easier to carry than a rugged tablet but more durable and configurable than a consumer smartphone.

Frequently Asked Questions About Rugged Handheld

What is a rugged handheld computer?

It is a one-hand industrial device for barcode scanning, data collection and mobile computing, built with sealed housing, dedicated scan keys and a replaceable battery for shift-long use.

What is the difference between a rugged handheld and a consumer smartphone?

A rugged handheld is developed for industrial reliability, repeated scanning, operational software integration and demanding working conditions.

A consumer smartphone is mainly designed for personal communication and general applications. It may not provide dedicated scanning buttons, replaceable batteries, industrial modules or verified rugged protection.

Does CENAVA manufacture Windows rugged handheld devices?

Yes. CENAVA manufactures Windows rugged handheld devices, including the W65G industrial PDA.

The W65G supports Windows 10 or Windows 11 and is designed for portable Windows applications, barcode scanning and industrial data collection.

Can the W65G scan both 1D and 2D barcodes?

Yes, when configured with the optional professional barcode scanning module.

The scanning engine is designed to identify common 1D and 2D barcode formats. Actual barcode compatibility should be tested using the labels used in the customer’s operation.

Is the W65G drop-resistant?

The W65G is designed to MIL-STD-810H requirements and specified for a 1.22 m drop onto composite wood while operating. Actual resistance can be affected by drop angle, surface material, accessories and repeated impact.

Can the W65G operate in cold or hot environments?

Yes. The W65G operates from -20 °C to 60 °C (storage: -30 °C to 70 °C), covering cold-storage and outdoor summer work. For colder startups, ask about low-temperature customization.

Does the W65G support 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS?

Yes. The W65G supports 4G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and multi-system positioning.

Does the W65G support NFC?

Yes. NFC is supported by the W65G.

Can a CENAVA rugged handheld connect to WMS, MES or ERP software?

Yes, provided that the software is compatible with the selected operating system and hardware configuration. The W65G can run compatible Windows applications.

Can CENAVA customize rugged handheld computers?

Yes. CENAVA provides OEM and ODM customization services for suitable rugged handheld projects.

Do you offer explosion-proof or Android handhelds?

Yes. The W65G-EX is the explosion-proof Windows variant for hazardous areas (see its certificate scope on the product page). Android-based handhelds can be discussed as OEM/ODM projects.

Available services may include logo customization, appearance design, hardware configuration, barcode module selection, firmware settings, application pre-installation, packaging and documentation localization.
