The W10NX is the removable-battery variant of our 10.1-inch Windows line: an Intel N5100 with native RS232 and RJ45 in an IP67 enclosure, built for service teams that can't afford to stop when the battery dies. The 7700mAh pack swaps in seconds — a two-shift maintenance crew rotates batteries instead of tethering the tablet to a charger. It's the model for equipment maintenance, machine configuration over serial, network commissioning, and vehicle- or wall-mounted installations where a sealed unit would mean downtime. One ordering constraint worth knowing up front: NFC and the 4G/5G module share the same internal bay, so each unit takes one or the other — decide at order time.

1. What is the W10NX designed for?
For service workflows where two things are non-negotiable: the battery must swap without tools, and the equipment side speaks RS232 or wired Ethernet. Maintenance departments, machine builders commissioning over serial, and fleets doing wall- or vehicle-mounted installs are the three buyer types who order it most. If you don't need the swappable battery, the W10N gives you the same N5100 with IP68 sealing for less.
2. How is the W10NX different from the W10N?
Both use the same Intel N5100 processor. The W10NX uses a removable 7700mAh battery and IP67 protection in a slightly thicker, mounting-oriented enclosure. The W10N instead uses a built-in battery and carries an IP68 rating. Choose the W10NX if swap-and-go battery operation matters for your workflow; choose the W10N if you need the highest sealing rating and don't need to swap batteries in the field.
3. What processor does the W10NX use, and is it powerful enough for engineering software?
It uses an Intel Celeron N5100 quad-core processor (1.10GHz base, up to 2.80GHz burst). This is well suited to standard Windows business/utility applications, equipment configuration tools, data entry, serial communication, and network diagnostics. For CAD, simulation software, or heavy multitasking, we'd recommend one of our Core i5 / Core Ultra rugged tablet models instead.
4. Can the touchscreen be used with gloves?
Glove touch works out of the box — the 10-point panel handles medical rubber gloves as standard. Wet-hand touch is a factory customization, so mention it at inquiry stage if the tablet will be used in rain or washdown areas.
5. What ports and interfaces does the W10NX include?
RJ45 (100Mbps Ethernet), RS232 (DB9), Micro HDMI, USB-C with PD charging, USB-A 3.0, 3.5mm audio jack, TF card slot (up to 1TB), Micro SIM slot, DC 12V power input, and a 12-pin POGO connector.Note that the USB-C port carries data and PD charging but no DisplayPort video — external displays connect over Micro HDMI.
6. Does the W10NX support Gigabit Ethernet or RS485?
The built-in Ethernet port runs at 100Mbps, not Gigabit. RS485 is not included as standard; if your equipment requires RS485, two routes: a factory-configured 422/485 serial option on project orders, or an external converter. Send us the protocol and baud rate your equipment uses and we'll quote the right one.
7. What wireless connectivity is included?
Dual-band Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 are standard. Region-specific 4G LTE or 5G modules are available as an option (matched to your target country/carrier), along with GPS/GLONASS positioning, with single-system BeiDou available as an option.
8. Can I add NFC to the W10NX?
NFC is an optional module, back-mounted by default; front-mounting is possible on custom projects. The constraint that decides orders: NFC and the 4G/5G module share one internal bay — a single unit can't have both. If your workflow needs NFC and cellular simultaneously, tell us at inquiry; that's a board-level conversation, not an accessory swap.
9. What ruggedness and certifications does the W10NX carry?
IP67 dust/water protection, MIL-STD-810H (1.22m drop test), an operating temperature range of -20°C to 60°C, plus CE, RoHS, and ISO quality management system certification. A built-in TPM security chip is also included. Full certification documents are available on request.
10. Is the W10NX suitable for explosive or hazardous environments?
The standard W10NX is not ATEX/IECEx certified — and IP67 sealing alone doesn't qualify any device for explosive atmospheres; the two certifications test entirely different things. For oil & gas, chemical plants, grain storage or mining, ask about our Ex-certified line (Ex ib ⅡC T4 Gb / Ex ib I Mb) at inquiry stage.
