Why Choose A10STX-EX Instead of A10ST-EX?
Choose the A10STX-EX when removable high-capacity power and battery rotation are central to the workflow. Its 15400mAh removable battery and optional external battery charging dock are designed for long routes and multi-shift fleets. Choose an A10ST-EX configuration when a fixed-battery architecture or a different certified bill of materials better matches the project.
When Is A10STX-EX Not the Right Choice?
Do not select the A10STX-EX solely from its family name when the project requires Zone 0/20, a certificate not for the model, an unapproved wireless or scanning module, or battery replacement inside a classified area. In those cases, ask CENAVA to review the full hazardous-area and workflow requirements before quoting a model.

|---|---|---|---|
| ATEX II 2GD | Gas and combustible dust | Category 2 projects in non-mining industries | Confirm the complete label and certificate for the ordered unit |
| Ex ib IIC T5 Gb | Gas, vapour or mist | Projects corresponding to Zone 1/2 and gas group up to IIC | Not intended for Zone 0 based on the Gb marking |

Recommended Applications
Oil and Gas Inspection
Use the A10STX-EX for digital inspection forms, pipeline patrol, valve records, maintenance history and work-order updates where the site classification matches the supplied gas certificate.
Petrochemical and Chemical Processing
Built-in RJ45/RS232, optional 2D scanning and a glove-friendly display support equipment identification, batch records, safety inspections and preventive-maintenance tasks — the jobs that happen next to the process, not at a desk.
Paint, Coating and Solvent Handling
For locations where flammable vapours may occur, the gas-certified configuration can support formula checks, container identification and maintenance records, subject to the site’s hazardous-area assessment.
Grain, Powder and Dust-Handling Facilities
The dust-certified configuration can support inventory, inspection and equipment records in projects where combustible-dust classification, temperature limits and the supplied certificate are compatible.
Pipeline and Utility Field Service
The 15400mAh removable battery, GNSS, optional RTK and 4G connectivity make the tablet suitable for long inspection routes and shift-based field fleets. Hazardous-area use still depends on the exact local classification and certificate package.
Frequently Asked Questions about A10STX-EX ATEX II 2GD tablet
1. What explosion-protection certification is available for the A10STX-EX?
Two routes. The ATEX II 2GD configuration carries Ex ib IIC T5 Gb (gas) and Ex ib IIIC T95°C Db (dust). A separate petrochemical configuration carries Ex ib IIC T4 Gb under a China Ex certificate. One unit ships under one route — tell us which system your site requires.
2. Can the A10STX-EX be used in ATEX Zone 1?
Category 2 / Gb gas configuration is intended for projects corresponding to Zone 1 and Zone 2, provided the exact certificate, gas group, temperature class, ambient range and site requirements match.
3. Can it be used in Zone 21 combustible-dust areas?
Db dust configuration is intended for projects corresponding to Zone 21 and Zone 22. Confirm the dust group, maximum surface temperature, ambient range and complete Ex marking against the site’s combustible-dust assessment.
4. Is the A10STX-EX suitable for Zone 0 or Zone 20?
No suitability for Zone 0 or Zone 20 should be claimed from Gb and Db markings.
5. Is IP67 the same as ATEX or explosion-proof certification?
No. IP67 addresses protection against dust ingress and temporary water immersion under specified test conditions. ATEX and the Ex markings address ignition risks in potentially explosive atmospheres. Both may be important, but they are separate claims.
6. Can the 15400mAh battery be replaced inside a hazardous area?
Do not remove or replace the battery in a hazardous atmosphere unless the exact certificate and operating manual explicitly allow it. The removable design is intended to support controlled battery rotation, normally in a designated safe area.
7. How long does the 15400mAh battery last?
8–10 hours in our standard test; your number will move with display brightness, 4G signal, scanning frequency and workload. For fleet projects we run the battery test against your actual route profile and quote from that.
8. Does the A10STX-EX support an external battery charger?
Yes. An optional charging dock prepares spare batteries outside the classified area — charge there, swap there, walk back in with a full pack.
9. What processor and Android version does the tablet use?
The A10STX-EX uses the MediaTek MT8781 octa-core processor with two Cortex-A76 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores. Operating system is Android 13.
10. What memory and storage options are available?
The standard configuration is 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, with a TF slot for up to 256GB more.
11. Is the display readable outdoors and usable with gloves?
The standard 10.1-inch display is 700 cd/m² and supports glove touch. A customizable 1000 cd/m² option is available for stronger outdoor-readability requirements.
12. Does the A10STX-EX have built-in RJ45 and RS232 ports?
Yes. RJ45 Ethernet and RS232 serial interfaces are built into the configuration.
13. Which wireless and positioning functions are supported?
Dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.2, 4G LTE and GPS/Galileo/GLONASS. Tell us the destination country — we fit the cellular module and band set for the region, and the radio sits inside the certified configuration.
14. Are NFC, barcode, UHF RFID and RTK available?
NFC is standard. Optional modules include 2D barcode scanning, UHF RFID, LF 125kHz RFID, ID-card reading and RTK positioning.
15. Can CENAVA customize the hardware or Android software?
Software images, device-management settings, branding and selected hardware options may be reviewed for OEM/ODM projects. Hardware changes can affect hazardous-area approval, so any change to batteries, radios, scanners, connectors, enclosures or accessories requires certification and engineering review before it is promised.
