1. What is the CENAVA A10ST-EX?

It's the 10.1-inch Android member of our explosion-proof family: MT8781 octa-core, Android 13, 1920 × 1200 display, IP68, 4G LTE, with RJ45 and RS232 built in. Think of it as the inspection-and-forms workhorse — the Windows models exist for the software that won't run on Android.

2. Which hazardous-area zones can the A10ST-EX be used in?

Hazardous-area suitability depends on the exact ordered configuration and the certificate that covers it. The product page references documents and markings associated with Zone 1/21 and Zone 2/22 applications, but these scopes are not interchangeable. 

3. Is the A10ST-EX ATEX certified?

The II 2GD configuration is backed by ECM technical-documentation verification (No. 6G250801.SCIQT68). For EU projects requiring ATEX, order the II 3GD configuration covered by CSANe 24ATEX1144X.

4. What does II 2GD Ex ib IIC T5 Gb / Ex ib IIIC T95°C Db mean?

This marking describes Group II equipment intended for gas and dust atmospheres using intrinsic safety level “ib.” IIC is the gas group, T5 is the gas temperature class, IIIC is the conductive-dust group, and T95°C is the maximum dust surface-temperature marking. Gb and Db are the equipment protection levels for Zone 1 gas and Zone 21 dust. Final suitability must still be checked against the exact certificate, equipment label and site classification.

5. Can the A10ST-EX be used in Zone 0 or Zone 20?

Not on the basis of a Gb/Db or Gc/Dc marking. Zone 0 and Zone 20 normally require higher equipment protection levels than the markings currently shown on this page. 

6. Can the A10ST-EX be used in coal mines?

Only a configuration covered by valid Group I mining approval may be used for that application. A Group II gas-and-dust marking does not by itself cover underground coal mines. 

7. What are the main hardware specifications?

MediaTek MT8781 octa-core processor, Android 13, 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, with an optional 12GB + 256GB configuration. It has a 10.1-inch 1920 × 1200 IPS display rated at 700 cd/m², ten-point glove touch and a stated surface hardness of at least 7H.

8. How rugged is the tablet?

IP68 ingress protection and MIL-STD-810H testing for drops up to 1.22 metres. 

9. What is the battery capacity and expected runtime?

The built-in 10,000mAh battery is rated at ≥10 hours. Ask us for the test conditions behind that number if runtime drives your purchase — we'll quote the cycle, not just the figure.

10. Can the tablet be charged inside a hazardous area?

Treat it as no. Unless the certificate and user manual for your exact configuration say otherwise, charging happens outside the hazardous area — at the dock, in the truck, in the office. The optional external charging dock is a safe-area accessory.

11. What wireless connections and physical ports are available?

Wireless: 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.2, and GPS/Galileo/GLONASS. Wired: RJ45 Ethernet, RS232, USB-C (OTG), USB-A, 3.5mm audio, 12-pin POGO dock, Micro SIM and a TF slot good for 256GB. If your project needs a port that isn't here, ask — the I/O set is fixed inside the certified configuration, so it has to be right at order time.

12. What is the operating temperature range?

−20°C to +60°C. If your site sees colder starts — outdoor winter work in northern regions, for example — tell us; the operating range is part of what the certificate covers.
