1. What types of Windows applications can the W10Y run?
The W10Y runs a Core i5-10210Y or i7-10510Y — a fanless Y-series chip, not a U-series. Field-inspection apps, warehouse clients, browser-based ERP and office documents all run comfortably, and the i7 handles a couple of heavyweight applications at once. What it won't do is CAD viewers or a local SQL database under load; for those, the W30U Pro with Core Ultra is the right step up, and we'll say so on the inquiry.
2. Does the W10Y support Windows 11 security features?
Yes — the built-in TPM enables BitLocker and Windows credential protection on Windows 11 Pro editions. For fleet deployments, tell us your imaging requirements before production: we can ship units with Secure Boot enabled and your corporate image pre-loaded, which saves your IT team the re-imaging pass.
3. Can the W10Y connect directly to industrial equipment?
Yes — that's what the RS232 port is for. It talks directly to PLCs, scales, barcode printers and legacy instruments; for RS485/422 equipment we offer a factory-configured serial option on project orders. Two things to send us before ordering: your equipment's pin definition and its voltage level — RS232 wiring isn't fully standardized, and we'd rather confirm on paper than on your factory floor.
4. Can barcode, RFID and fingerprint modules be installed together?
Some combinations fit together, some don't — the enclosure, antennas and internal bays are finite, and UHF RFID in particular competes for space with cellular modules. Send us the modules you need and the quantity, and we'll confirm the workable combination in writing before sample production rather than after.
