CENAVA Showcased Industrial Rugged Tablets at IME 2026 in Thailand
IME 2026 opened at Bangkok's IMPACT Exhibition Center on July 22, 2026. The three-day event drew over 300 exhibitors from across the region, with industrial automation and digitalization as its central themes.
In Phuket, a field engineer's tablet dies within months—not from impact, but from salt air corroding the charging port. In Bangkok's monsoon season, a logistics handheld fails after one afternoon of rain. These are the problems CENAVA built its IP68-rated tablets to solve. The enclosures use a multi-layer sealing design, and the units are tested across a wide temperature range before leaving the factory.

At the booth, CENAVA split its display into two zones: one for AI edge devices running local LLMs, and one for ATEX-certified terminals. Visitors could handle customized samples—one tablet had an added RS-485 port for industrial sensors, another had a magnesium alloy enclosure for mining use. A Thai petrochemical buyer spent twenty minutes at the explosion-proof station, asking specifically about Zone 2 compliance.

IP68 Rugged Tablets Attract Strong Interest from Visitors
The booth's centerpiece was a 50-liter acrylic tank. A CENAVA W30U Pro sat at the bottom, screen on, running a live sensor dashboard. Visitors watched it for the full thirty-minute demo cycle. One buyer from a Vietnamese port operator took a video and asked if the unit could survive daily saltwater spray without rinsing—the answer, according to the engineer on duty, was yes, but he recommended weekly fresh-water wipe-downs for optimal connector life.
The AI station ran two live demos. On the W30U Pro, a 7B-parameter Qwen model answered maintenance queries in Thai using a locally stored equipment manual—no cloud connection needed. The W14Pro laptop showed real-time defect detection on a conveyor belt video feed, using the Intel Core Ultra's integrated NPU (Intel AI Boost) to keep CPU load below 30%. Both units also support Ollama and llama.cpp for teams that want to run their own models. A buyer from a Laotian mining company noted that his site has no fiber link; edge AI that works offline is the only option he has.
ATEX and IECEx Certified Explosion-Proof Terminals
The explosion-proof line drew a different crowd. CENAVA's ATEX- and IECEx-certified tablets—tested to IEC 60079 standards—are rated for use in Zone 2 hazardous areas. A representative from a Thai refinery asked about the W30U Pro's surface temperature limits (T4 rating, max 135°C) and whether the enclosure material could handle daily exposure to aromatic hydrocarbons. The on-site engineer showed him the certification documents and the fluoropolymer sealant spec sheet.

After the show, CENAVA's Bangkok representative scheduled follow-up meetings with twelve qualified leads, including three petrochemical buyers and two port operators. The company plans to open a local service center in Rayong by Q4 2026 to handle calibration and recertification for ATEX units sold in Thailand.
